Cleaning Schedule
Before any cleaning service takes place, it is crucial for the service provider to perform a site visit to inspect the inventory of the building or premises that need routine cleaning. Understanding the structure of the building or premises, such as the number of floors, facilities, common areas, corridors, elevators or escalators, car parks, drains, and other compounds, is essential for determining the labor required to maintain safety for all occupants.
Various quality benchmark elements are used, typically divided into two sets for each element to account for the possibility of re-pollution when inspections are not carried out immediately after cleaning, compared to inspections carried out immediately without the possibility of re-pollution.Â
The building owner or representative, together with the service provider or their representative, should randomly select the areas or blocks to be inspected. Inspections can be carried out immediately after cleaning or in-between cleaning, with the relevant standard applied accordingly.
The level of cleaning standard is subject to the frequency of cleaning tasks agreed upon between the building owner or representative and the service provider. When the frequency of cleaning is less, the time frame for in-between cleaning is longer, which means that the tolerance level for cleaning performance is higher. Occupancy rate and traffic are also major considerations for cleaning schedules.
After narrowing your cleaning service options down to a manageable number, it is essential to verify their insurance and credentials. Any reputable cleaning service will have the proper licensing and training to conduct business in your area. Ensuring that a cleaning service is licensed demonstrates their compliance with local regulations and standards, which is a critical indicator of their professionalism and reliability.
Insurance is another crucial factor to consider. A respectable cleaning service will carry comprehensive insurance coverage, including general liability and workers' compensation. General liability insurance protects you and your property in the event of damage caused by the cleaning crew, while workers' compensation covers any injuries sustained by the cleaning staff while on your premises. Without adequate insurance, you could be held financially responsible for any accidents or damages that occur during the cleaning process.
